On the one hand it's simple - we are one of Australia's oldest and most successful commercial law firms with 174 of the country's brightest lawyers - 43 of them are partners. And we have a blue-chip client list.
We work with the corporate sector, government and government-related organisations, and the financial services industry.
We get demonstrable results through understanding our clients and their businesses, listening and providing excellent advice.
Those are the facts, but they're not the whole story. I believe we're much more than what we do. How we do what we do is just as important.
For instance, we've made a conscious decision to have only one office in Sydney servicing the whole of Australia. Why? Because it's different and it works. Clients love the focus and consistency. And our people love being part of one united team. The energy is palpable.
It's hard to put into words; it's how you feel when you walk into HDY and deal with our people.
That's not just rhetoric, it's reality.
We've deliberately structured the firm so it's not overly hierarchical. We honestly believe that if people are happy in the workplace, they'll do their best work. We evaluate success through teamwork as well as individual achievement. All these factors are largely responsible for our phenomenal growth in the past ten years.
Finally, we believe it's not all about profit. Strong, enduring relationships are at the heart of HDY.
