About Olivewood Historic Homestead & Museum

Olivewood's homestead was built in 1889 and the olive grove planted in 1890 are both still here. Charles and Ella Chaffey lived in the homestead and established the first irrigation colony in Australia. The complex has increased the number of historical items and now visitors will see a large collection including historical photos, books, the Reiners photography display, Renmark's first dental clinic display, a Rolls Royce, a 1926 fire truck, an 1878 wedding gown and so much more. The Homestead is fully furnished and includes the original bedroom suite. Renmark families can look up their ancestors information in well organised folders. Entry is cash only from $5 conc $7 adults. We have the capacity to host tour groups, meetings & weddings.. 1880s cabin with period decor & displays. Log cabin on a working orchard dating to 1880s featuring period furnishings & historical displays.
