Newcastle Ballet Centre is led by Kristy Tancred and Rider D. Vierling, who have over a decade of ballet teaching experience.  

Kristy and Rider recently returned from the United States following a successful career, which spanned over a decade in ballet and teaching dance.

Excitingly, Newcastle Ballet Theatre will be the first college in New South Wales to offer the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Syllabus, a program designed by the former Australian Ballet Principal Dancer, Christine Walsh AM.  

This program has already had remarkable success in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Asia.

Whatever your dance level or dance goal may be, Newcastle Ballet Theatre believes that every student’s passion for dance should be carefully and expertly nurtured and will endeavour to provide a program tailored to each student’s needs.

Although Newcastle Ballet Theatre focuses on Classical Ballet, we also offer open ballet classes, boys classes, Pas de Deux, Contemporary, Jazz/Hip Hop, Pilates and Stretch/Conditioning as well as Tiny Tots ballet.  

We also provide adult ballet classes and offer a full time training program for serious students wishing to pursue a career in professional dancing or teaching.
