Do you use drugs or alcohol to deal with your anxiety, depression, loneliness or dissatisfaction? Have you tried to cut back on drinking or doing drugs, but find it harder than you initially thought? Are you starting to see the health consequences of chronic or binge using? Have your friends or family members expressed concern?
If you are struggling with substance abuse or behavioural addiction, you’re not alone. Though alcohol and drug use is normalised in Australian party culture, the threshold for addiction is actually much lower than you may realise, and it can have devastating effects on your life.
The Cabin is renowned worldwide as a pioneer in addiction treatment and is well prepared to help you overcome your addiction.
Effective Care You Can Trust
Our clients receive the utmost attention from our team of experienced addiction experts. Together, you and your counsellor will create a tailored treatment and relapse prevention plan. Our very own Recovery Zones treatment method integrates group sessions, one-on-one counselling, mindfulness meditation and a modern version of the 12 Steps. Our programme boasts a 96% completion rate. This all-addictions approach is especially effective in treating not only substance addictions, but behavioural addictions like gambling, sex and food.
Experienced, Credentialed Addiction Professionals
The team at The Cabin Melbourne is comprised of highly skilled and accredited addiction professionals with decades of combined experience. Many counsellors are in recovery themselves, so they understand first-hand the nature of the disease and how it is best treated.

The Cabin Melbourne offers a convenient outpatient programme designed to accommodate even the busiest of schedules. Many of our clients are high-level professionals with demanding jobs and family obligations. We understand that these valuable aspects of your life must be honoured. “THANKS TO THE RAYMOND HADER CLINIC I AM NOW ALMOST 18 MONTHS CLEAN AND MY LIFE IS AMAZING... I COULD NOT HAVE TURNED MY LIFE AROUND WITHOUT HELP, BEFORE ENTERING THE RETREAT I WAS EXTREMLY DEPRESSED AND DEVOID OF HOPE. THE FACT THAT THE STAFF HAD PAST LIFE EXPERIENCE WITH DRUGS AND ALCOHOL MEANT I WAS MORE RECEPTIVE AND FEEL THEY WHERE BETTER ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON FOR ME. THROUGH THE INTRODUCTION TO 12 STEP RECOVERY I GOT WHILST IN REHAB I NOW HAVE A STRONG NETWORK OF SUPPORT AND A PROGRAM OF CONTINUING RECOVERY. I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO OR STAYED IN NA OR AA OF MY OWN ACCORD. I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY OF STAYING AT THE RETREAT FOR 6 MONTHS AND THEN FOLLOWING ON WITH OUTPATIENT TREATMENT. I WAS IN ACTIVE ADDICTION FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND BELIEVE THERE IS NO QUICK FIX AND THAT IT IS NOT EASY ... NOW I AM LIVING THE DREAM, SO WORTH THE EFFORT.”
“Admitted into the Raymond Hader Clinic program in 2007 after intervention from the courts. Today I am now 3.5 years alcohol and drug free after 20 years of addiction. I attribute my success to the Raymond Hader Clinic and following the direction of their staff that have personal experience with addiction. The philosophy is based on twelve step coupled with residing in a therapeutic community and a lot of group and individual work. I followed the complete 90 day program as well as transitional housing program and my life is unrecognisable compared to the shadow of the person that entered the program three and half years ago. Can not fault the Raymond Hader Clinic.”
“$2000, a week to stay in a dalipidated building. Long days with no rest or free time. Daily work duties, basically repairing the site. Only 2 showers. No music, books, or tv. G rated dvd may be allowed on a sat night. Medication despensed by ex patients working there as support workers. (Legal ?) Spend alot of time on old vehicles attending evening AA and NA meetings. All phones calls are monitered and only allowed on a sunday. The owner promised alot such as Cognitive Behabiour Therapy, which never happened, cannot go for a run, as there is not time, punishment system in places, called 'an awareness' in the form of essay writing. 3 in one week and dropped at the Vline station. Yoga with a meal is the highlight of the week. The 'theraputic community' asseses you and decides if you are ready to leave, even if you planned three months. All employees are recovering addicts, even your councelor you will see 1 hour a week, which is okay, but the have no concept of any other issues, such as anxiety, depression, bi pola etc.
My sugestion, go into a hospital detox and attend a twelve step meeting every day, and keep your $2000 a week (suggested stay is 3months, thats $24000 plus the rest) visits to melbourne to visit a doctor or ”
“$1885 per week to stay in a tin shed with no air conditioning, forced to do yoga in 42 degree heat twice a week, travel around Melbourne in a mini bus to attend daily NA meetings. More like a harsh bootcamp than a retreat. Save your money and attend NA meetings on your own, thats what works.”
“On a recent visit to Sydney I was charged with DUI while riding a friends motorbike. Problem was I hadn't had a drink for over 24 hours. I found these lawyers on Google while I was at the cop shop and they arranged for a new test. Sure enough it came up negative and the cops dropped the charges. I honestly thought at the time that I was a gonner but these guys believed my story and helped me prove it.”
“These guys are good. Very professional service and great value. I highly recommend them.”
“I found them to be very professional lawyers and they got me a very good result.”
