After having various 18ft and 20 ft boats over the years of some of the biggest names on the market we can truly tell you the 5500 Classic Craft is a real surprise packet . They ride really well over the SA gulf waters and have a dry ride. Sits really well at anchor. Really happy with the Classic Craft 5500 and would recommend it to anybody in that 5.5 m range. Heaps of fishing room and well thought out layout.
I've had over a dozen boats and only parted with my Classic Craft 5500 to upsize. They soonafter introduced the 610C and I always knew I'd always end up in one. I owned a Formula 21which was an absolute beast in a head sea and built like a tank but it annoyed me at rest. Also owned several other boats but have found my 610C has provided me with the best combination of sea-going ability and stability at rest for those long snapper sessions anchored up in Port Phillip Bay. The boat also provides me with the most deck space I've ever seen in a 20.5 ft cuddy can yet I can still curl up for a snooze in the cabin. With a huge kill tank, ample fuel capacity and storage compartments absolutely everywhere, I love this boat.
