I cannot begin to express how traumatic my experience with Cyrenien House was. After spending many months as a resident at their so called "Therapeutic Community" I graduated the program feeling completely humiliated and defeated. The Peer Support Workers employed by Cyrenien House behaved incredibly unprofessional. On multiple occasions they attempted to convince me of their own bizarre spiritual concepts claiming it would help me abstain from substance abuse. If I questioned their outrageous beliefs I was met with arrogance and disdain. I was treated less-than every step of the way. I could type endlessly about the negative impact this organisation had on my mental health and general well-being but it won't make a stroke of difference.
Luckily I found other AOD organisations in the Perth Metro area who helped me maintain sobriety. Had a relied soley on Cy House i dread to think where I would have ended up.
