Been struggling with whether to write this or not given that this is a rescue centre. I think I have to though as questions have been left unanswered and I feel very disappointed with the care the animal in question received.
I felt that giving a reasonable donation might have helped but blatantly not. Apart from an injury the animal was very bright, eating and drinking when we brought him in. I did not feel confident when I left him that he wouldn’t be euthanised with the attitude of the staff member who received him. We called later that day and asked to be kept in the loop and if they decided they couldn’t help him we would pick him up and take him to our vet (which I wish we had done in the first place)
Called again the next day to hear that he was fine and being treated. Called after the weekend to be told he died the night I took him in? When I questioned this I was told he was dead the next morning. After being told he was fine and being treated on the phone the same afternoon! Obviously I don’t know what happened but the stories don’t add up and I won’t take any other injured animal there that’s for sure as I don’t feel that I did the best for him in putting my trust in this place unfortunately.

Again you are missing the point. You have clarified that he was dead the next morning.
Why was my husband told later on that day (the day you say he died) that his leg was in a splint and he was doing ok and to call after the wknd if he was already deceased?? Blatantly we were told lies either way. I understand that you do your best and that you are very busy people but your reply still does not answer my question, just makes me even more sceptical.
