We had our tile roof replaced with Zincalume by Advanced Roofing recently, and it was an extremely negative experience, and we feel the need to share this with anyone considering using Chris Andersons outfit.

All up, the job took over 90 days to be considered close to acceptable, normally a 5 day job, by professionals.

From day 1, they ran out of materials, leaving the roof open and unsecured, with summer rains, using our new Anticon insulation to cover the opening. Not off to a confident start, and it all went downhill rapidly from there.

Our biggest concern was the quality of the workmanship (see photos) to the extent we demanded that a significant amount of brand new Blusecope materials had to be replaced, including numerous sheets of tin, valleys, ridge-capping, and a number of colurbond gutters (see photos) All of this damage was a result of very rough handling, and zero care, even when we raised voiced our concerns.

The roof was never cleaned down, and now after rain, rust is appearing everywhere from the shwarf (photos)

Other roofers and builders have looked at and noted the job, and all agree it was very sloppy and unacceptable result.

We were concerned enough to contract a building inspector to take a look, and he reported that the roof tie downs and strapping were not to code and did not meet the specific engineering plans, meaning the roof could blow off. These issues were rectified, but only by our own due diligence.

Damage to the property was a result of them dumping the 300l solar water across the roof, some of which ran into the ceiling, and they had to get a painter in to repair the damage. We had no hot water after they re-installed the water heater so we had Solarhart take a look, the booster wires were not even connected and the panels left unsecured.

It would be easy for Chris to say it was a one-off experience with that two man team, but Chris' attitude when we raised all of these concerns throughout the job, was "Wait until the job is finished before you complain"

Chris had a rapid fire response for every issue we raised, such as the 1 in 10 roof screws that were (and still are) either missing rubber washers, or over-torqued, or under-torqued "There is an acceptable percentage that don't have to be perfect" referencing a builders code which Chris never gave any reference to or we could find info on, and, in total conflict with Bluescopes Technical Data on handling & installation of their products.

So if you are considering using Advanced Roofing, take a look at the photos and ask yourself if this is the quality you expect for your $$ and if you want to have a protracted battle of wits with a master of spin to get issues resolved that should never have occurred.

We had advanced roof repairs replace our tin roof. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They visited our house twice to quote us two to three days work.

They started late because they hadn't organised the materials for our roof correctly.

Once they did start they worked literally one to three hours per day. So the two to three days became six weeks.

In that time I made multiple phone calls to the owner, the guy doing the job and was completely unable to motivate them to finish.

The low point was probably two weeks in when a storm was due on the bureau of metrology forecast and they told me that they , as roofers, knew better and that it wouldn't rain and they didn't need to fit ridge capping to our roof. My husband had to go buy materials to climb on the roof to cover the fist size gaps to prevent the storm, that did come, damaging our house.

Once they finally finished we had two leaks. We also had a different roofer fitting range-hoods tell us what a poor quality job they did.
