About Cairns & District Chinese Association
CADCAI( Cairns and District Chinese Assoc Inc) is the lead Chinese community arts and heritage organisation in north Queensland.
It is custodian of the nationally significant Cairns Lit Sung Goong Temple collection and organises the annual Cairns Lunar New Year Festival. As well as collection management activities, it offers regular programs in Chinese performing arts such as lion, dragon, traditional dance, drumming, and Chinese language.
CADCAI has operated as an incorporated not for profit organisation since 1986, and is managed by a volunteer committee. Our mission is ‘to inspire present and future generations to celebrate and value North Queensland’s distinctive Chinese history, objects, performance and stories’
