Maylands Historical and Peninsula Association
This building was the original Maylands police station it was built at the turn of the 20th century due primarily to the huge
increase in population during the gold rush period and the subsequent increase in
crime and civil disorder. Maylands Police Station and Quarters (fmr) was one of
six suburban police stations opened in 1908; the others being West Perth, North
Perth, Perth Causeway, Victoria Park and Cottesloe the others being West Perth, North
Perth, Perth Causeway, Victoria Park and Cottesloe
