About SCARF Refugee Support

Since SCARF’s founding in 2005, more than 2100 people from refugee backgrounds – from 18 different countries of origin have benefited from one or more of SCARF services. Over 250 volunteers are actively engaged in SCARF services at any one time.

In October 2021 SCARF joined forces with the Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra Ltd (MCCI).

SCARF will continue to serve the Illawarra’s refugee community and, together with MCCI, work towards creating connections and generating opportunities that build a sense of belonging; promote social and economic inclusion; and empower individuals and families to lead independent lives.
