Would leave 0 stars if possible. My Grandfather passed away recently and the Branch Manager at Westpac Karrinyup has gone out of her way to make an already difficult time, horrendous and extremely stressful for the entire family. She has been deliberately obstructive and unnecessarily rude. Her incompetence caused my Grandparents account to be frozen, making it impossible for my Grandmother’s living expenses to be paid. DESPITE being provided with certified copies of his WILL, DEATH CERTIFICATE and ENDURING POWER OF ATTORNEY. She then went out of her way to not rectify the situation, resulting in overdue notices being issued. Understandably there are procedures in place to prevent veunerable people from being taken advantage of, however the Manager of this branch took it upon herself to expand upon these of her own accord denying an elderly woman access to WHAT IS HERS BY LAW. This is the sort of loyalty one can expect after banking loyally with the same bank for 100 years. If you have elderly family, save yourself the extreme distress of having to deal with Probate or EPA by going with another bank!! I am so disgusted that I no longer want to bank with Westpac and organised to have my personal loan taken over by a different bank. However to finalise this I need to obtain the payout figure and make an appointment. Can I get through to anyone on the phone? Of course not. Leave a message and your call will be returned by close of business. Was it? Of course not. Westpac must be doing really well for themselves despite the recent Commission if they are actively discouraging customers. Disappointing policy!
