Just wanted to share my experience with Battery King in Ascot.
Took my Optima D34 into them 21st of May 2020 for a warranty claim. They told me they would load test it overnight and get back to me the following day.
2 days had past so I called them, the lady told me it had a dead cell and would be covered but she would have to send it back to the supplier and would let me know. After this I was calling roughly every 2 weeks to check the status. Fast forward 3 months and she advised me that they had sent it to the wrong supplier and need to send it to the correct supplier and blamed covid for the slow transport times.
From there I was calling every 2 to 3 weeks and a different excuse everytime or she would say let me chase it up and call you back.
So finally today roughly 10 months after I dropped it off she tells me the battery would not be covered under warranty due to calcification and poor matainence.
My question to her was how would someone maintain a sealed battery that's advertised as matainence free? After much stuttering and fumbling she responds with your alternator must be faulty or you don't drive your car enough.
I've had my alternator tested and my car is driven daily because it's my only means of getting to and from work.
Sorry for the long post but I thought you all deserve to know my experience with this company. And yes I have lodge a complaint with DMIRS.
