You can see where the old meets new with this bridge. It was built in 1903 and officially opened by the Governor, Sir George Ruthven Le Hunte, 27th November, 1903, in the presence of a large gathering. It was constructed to link the suburbs of St. Peters and Walkerville, over the Torrens River. The initial cost at the time was £1,500. It is obviously still standing today, however some adjustments have been made. Disappointing to see the graffiti that stains its pillars. Attempts have been made to cover this over with more paint, but the graffiti just keeps coming back like a disease. Certainly well built and surviving the test of time.
