am seeking a 2 person camper trailer for my wife and myself to travel to Port Headland and possibly beyond on a casual basis, with no particular places to visit in mind. We want to avoid accommodation units and camping grounds, stopping wherever we find somewhere that captures our fancy. We are 73 & 72 years of age. I am a DVA disabled Vietnam War Veteran, quite mobile but with very little strength in my arms or legs, however like all other War Veterans, I exist on a DVA Disabled Soldiers pension (Gold Card) that is approximately half the basic wage, and totally unrealistic (as it has been for the past 20 years, a serious bone of contention among all Australian War Veterans) and funds are far from flush, therefore we are looking for something realistic but economical, comfortable, light and easy to erect. I have spent extensive time in the bush when hunting or prospecting, usually living in tents or “dongas” on hunting properties. I have all necessary camping equipment but would be happy with a camper trailer that offers basic items such as gas stove, sink, fold out tables or whatever. I need storage space, for a 75ltr fridge/freezer, portable generator, chainsaw, 2 x rifles (plus ancillary equipment) and metal detector and obviously spare fuel. We would prefer a camper with easy access. If required we have our own complete set of camping gear, stove, gas bottles lighting and all cooking and eating gear.
