AVOID
Paid $80 for a roadworthy to change rego to Qld. Got told there were faults that would require $440 worth of repairs/parts before car could be deemed roadowrthy, and after getting them fixed I would have to pay another $80 for a second roadworthy check before they would deem the car roadworthy (despite the fact that these repairs would make the car roadworthy by Maloufs own standards)
Took it to another, local mechanic who specifically checked the supposed problems identified by Malouf and I was told the problems did not exist. I also had a roadworthy done a month prior in Victoria when I purchased the car and none of these problems were identified.
Talk to people you know and find a reputable, independent mechanic instead of money hungry rip-off merchants
Be very careful with this place. They can/will wreck your car. I had to take mine here for an airbag recall. They made a complete mess of the dash, instrument cluster was loose and dangling, tears to the lining, broken air vents, glue marks etc. After I complained to Subaru they offered to repair it and give a 'free' service for my trouble. I took the car to my usual mechanic a couple of weeks later for another matter, and he noted Malouf had failed to secure the oil filter back in place, leading to a dangerous loss of engine oil. He was almost certain this was in retaliation for my complaint to Subaru, and that a few more days of using the car without his intervention would have led to a catastrophic seizure of the engine.
