Absolutely DO NOT use this Auto repair shop, my daughter unfortunately bought a car from Cooktown, we had to drive from Cairns to pick it up after its roadworthy certificate was done, only to have to stay overnight as they hadn't even started the work by 2pm. Picked the car up the next day and on the way back to Cairns wheel bearing noise started, the next day engine light came on, so we took the car to a mechanic who found oil leaks as well. The car had several issues that shouldn't have passed a roadworthy. The car has now gone to Dept of Transport to a machinery inspector as Marty from Cooktown Auto Repairs refused to fix the problems. I urge anyone who has had problems with this business to stand up and make a complaint for their incompetence and for people to find an alternate mechanic if they need repairs in Cooktown. We are now left with the bill to make this car roadworthy, not to mention the cost of overnight accommodation. Worst experience, incompetent and rude staff!
