I have been going here for 11 years, I live nearby.
Built in 1958, it has a lovely traditional sanctuary with the tabernacle and large crucifix in the central highest position as it should be, marble altar and steps make it feel very special. Beautiful traditional statues of St Mary and St Joseph and Baptism Font. Even has original altar rails.
I love the traditional sanctuary and hope it is not changed.
The surrounding structure is typical of the era with salmon brick, some work needed on flooring and doors.
The church was once much larger, the front section and main entry having been divided up some time ago to create a church hall, the original section also features a large choir loft. It appears this has not been used for many decades.
New Parish Priest Father Marcello, is friendly and has been great with good liturgy and ceremonial events over special occasions such as Easter. Although his sermons are a bit longer than the super fast previous Father James who was very basic in his liturgy.
I have been going here for 11 years however the parishioners have still not really go to know me and rarely say hello which is a bit of a pity.
