I wouldn't recommend Hamilton Hill Medical Centre and Dr. Nirmala Velusamy to anyone.
Nirmala was rude, negligent and lacked empathy towards me. She tried to force me to see a private specialist when I wanted to see a public one. She left out important information on my referral and tried to cut my appointment short after four minutes. The standard appointment time by law is ten / fifteen. Nirmala falsely accused me of being abusive when I asked for a copy of my referral and told me that I didn't need one because it wouldn't help my health. (Never heard that one before.) She would often read off Google and didn't provide me with helpful information regarding my health. I also found her to be judgemental at times.
The practice itself is unorthodox and unethical. I was told by the receptionist that there is no practice manager, head doctor or formal way to complain. I could leave a complaint with the receptionist but I wasn't allowed to know where the complaint was going or who to address it to. Receptionist Ebony was unhelpful and lacked people skills when talking to me.
I believe my information is not confidential at this practice. Personal details such as symptoms and tests I needed were disclosed to my next of kin (this is illegal) by a nurse who couldn't reach me. The situation was non urgent and my next of kin shouldn't have been contacted. Personal details were also disclosed in reminder messages which I didn't agree to receive.
