About John Meagher & Co Building
The large impressive building was originally the two storey department store of John Meagher and Co. John Meagher opened a branch in Temora in a tin shed in 1881 and in 1882 built a section of the first brick store in Temora. Originally ran as a department store stocking groceries,drapery and ironmongery
A glittering public banquet was held in the upstairs section for the opening of the store.
With a large upstairs warehouse style space, a unique and mystique basement, both currently not utilised, it is only the ground floor level which currently serves as a retail precinct and is known as the Paleface Arcade
Current owners are looking to re-imagine this outstanding building and bring it back to it's former glory for the benefit of the town
