Absolutely DISGUSTING! Service was horrible from blonde girl there. Staff members wearing shorts so short you can't even see if theyre wearing pants! How can you call that hygienic?
Fish n chips are a national comfort food and every man and his dog at some stage has had fish n chips in their lifetime so theres plenty of fish n chip connoisseurs out there and competition is very high. I've eaten here on a few occasions, hoping that each time would be better than the last. I purposely come a little earlier, before the lunchtime masses arrive, to ensure I get the freshest possible cook and not from the display unit. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Service: the service wasnt shocking, infact, they were pleasant and engaging, however, when I asked for a piece of fish to be cooked fresh, it was declined and I was given a peice from the display...ok.
The Food: I was assured the fish in the disply was freshly cooked but it was undercooked, the fish had not thawed out properly and I could taste it throughout the fish...the chips weren't hot but nice but the salad was fresh and very tasty. The gravy was thicker than I liked but thats just personal preference. The shop display: The salad bar looked amazing, it was full and colourful and very appetizing, however, the hot display looked bare, colourless and it looked old.
The cost: I dont consider what I got was value for my money, to me, if you pay a premium price, you should at least get a premium product and this wasn't the case.
Summary: People will wait as long as it takes to get good fish n chips. Fish n chips have never been a fast food...with exception to lunchbars but you're not paying premium prices. Its a shame people will continue to go there and eat, finish their meal kmowing there was something better somewhere else.
My recommendation...dont take the family their and stick to your local or favourite fish n chip shop. If your eating on the go then this could be a place for you....especially if you're hungry for fish n chips. 2 star rating because I hope they make changes
