Just the best… way to ‘do the Thorsborne Track. Just ask Big Skipper John.
Can’t believe the last three days we have had discovering the hidden treasures on Hinchinbrook Island. From the moment it began with skipper John taking us out in his commando style boat. Riding the waves, navigating the bar, gliding in quietly beside a resting big mumma humpback , seeing the hidden beaches, cliffs & Mt’s of Hinchinbrook unfold before your eyes. … Just breathtaking .
John dropped us off at Zoe’s Bay , like we had arrived on the set of a Survivor episode. We pitched out tent and we were off .. following the App our first day set off to Blue Lagoon then scaled up the river bed to find our ‘very own’ waterfall and swimming hole all to ourselves. Scaled the cliff to the top of the waterfall & to find another water hole to sink in & take in the magic view.
Next day pack some snacks fruit and head south to see the Mulligans Falls section of the Track. Great fitness challenge..slide into the Zoe Infinity pool, fill our bottles with water at the Zoe Falls below & then open a bottle of red on the beach under the palm trees and reminisce the day.
Day three.. beach combing, sun-baking & swapping stories with the other hikers & campers passing through Zoe.
End of the day ,true to his word John’s big boat comes zooming arround the headland into the beach and off we go back to Lucinda . A dream come true. ????????
