About Desert Festival
Desert Festival is Alice Springs’ award-winning annual arts and cultural festival, held in September each year in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, Australia.
In 2022, Desert Festival won Best Metro Festival at the NT Music Awards and a Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Award for its Festivals and Events category.
Founded in 2001, the Festival has had many names and seen many forms but has always had the same focus - to celebrate arts and culture in Central Australia.
Delivered by Red Hot Arts Central Australia, the Festival has significantly built the region’s capacity to deliver international quality events and continues to support and develop the arts sector of Alice Springs.
