I feel the urge to commend Cat and Sanja in the professional manner that they displayed in their recent dealings with my wife and me concerning a TDP claim. Sanja was exceptional and exemplar in the manner she liaised between us and the Insurer to bring about a TDP settlement in a timely manner.

Sanja your work was appreciated for the reasons that you were professional in dealing with the Insurer, and also by being supportive to my wife and me in assisting & filing the correct documents to make the claim and all the while being sensitive to me and my health condition that brought about the claim.

Please know that you are held in high esteem by my wife and me and although I do not doubt that you would treat all you clients with the same compassion empathy and professionalism, we felt it wonderful and special to be dealt with in such a manner.

Cat and Jonathon were a pleasure to deal with throughout our engagement and spent a lot of time understanding our goals.

Unfortunately the products Plansure were looking to offer us ultimately weren't suitable and the cost for the Statement of Advice was high ($4,400) for something we didn't end up following through with - noting that you are up for the full fee regardless of whether you proceed or not, with limited ability to review and adjust the recommendations once issued. I had the impression that most of that cost is consumed by compliance requirements and the costs to run such a service; the content and recommendations in the SOA were relatively boilerplate in the end.

We were looking for a low cost and flexible investment solution, which ultimately Plansure were unable to offer as this didn't align with their suite of services and products available. In retrospect, the questions in the the interviews and questionnaire were leading questions to point you towards a certain product. I think this all points to a structural issue with how financial services are set up in Australia though, and how financial planners make money, rather than an issue with Plansure.

I would recommend engaging with Plansure (Cat is really fantastic) if you are a high net worth individual or have complex finances, mostly due to the cost-benefit. There are a lot of great resources available online and many alternatives to expensive wrap platforms and products like education bonds. We learnt a lot from our experience with Plansure and it gave us the impetus we needed to research and set up our own strategy which fit with our goals. I hope this review will be helpful for anyone who is questioning whether this type of financial advice is suitable for their situation - I believe this is the most important question to consider up front.
