I think there must be different cooks on different days cos my meal did not look or taste anything like what the 5 star reviews say?
Chips were very, very undercooked and squishy, more like sticks of thawed potato paste, dunked in oil. Grilled fish portion was so tiny for $10, perhaps palm-sized, and even the lemon wedge that came with it was cut so thin that no lemon juice came out, it just broke in half.
Christmas decorations were up, but weirdly no one bothered to cut the tags off, are they planning on returning them to Big W after Christmas?
Is all this Cutting Corners to save money, or just lazy? Or did the bogan white cook behind the counter not like my ethnic face and deliberately served me rubbish? Could be any. Hard to tell.
The thing about takeaway is sadly ya don't find out it's poor quality til you get home so there's no opportunity for the shop to rectify the problems on the spot.
I found the giant Aussie flag off-putting too, that combined with the awful Channel Seven mainstream news blaring from the TV, makes the place feel like it's run by those patriotic crazies Reclaim Australia or One Nation.
Coming from a long history of small business owners, I love supporting the family-owned and independent teeny tiny shops. But unfortunately I won't be coming back to this one. Not a positive experience overall.
