I used to rate this surgery highly until a very important diagnosis was missed .I have sinced moved elsewhere.
Now my mother needed ambulance transfer and her Doctor wasnt available to authorize this ,, so my 94 year old father has a bill for $511. Reception were rude and unhelpful, saying i couldnt contact the Doctor to get him to write a note to St Johns and they couldnt help. I am told my mothers Dr is in Port Hedland and they cant tell me when he is back.
An officious unhelpful receptionist who has cost us $511.
Some Drs receptionists have delusions of importance, if this is allowed we will become like the Uk where they decide if you are ill enough to see a Doctor.
Ps i put my complaint in writing and Melissa the team leader emailed the Dr in Port Hedland and then sent me the letter he wrote for St Johns, thank you Melissa.
I have increased my rating from one star to four for her kind and professional response.
This place runs on queue based appointments so you can't book in advance, but knowing that all you do is turn up and get given a time frame to come back in. It gives you the freedom to not have to wait in the waiting room for 30+ minutes.
Although if you do have a preferred doctor it's a good idea to call up and check if they're in today.
Other than that all the staff are friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend this practice
