I went with wife today. We wanted to roam the lovely shop to chose something big for our 45th anniversary but from the moment we entered we felt like we were under suspicion from the two staff behind the counter who eyed our every move overtly not covertly.
I suppose with the rise in theft in the area we could understand the caution but nevertheless we as customers felt we were not unwelcome and under suspicion from first walking into the shop. We are aged in our 70s and having worked for 20+ years in the Law system, we just did not appreciate the pressure of eyes continually following us everywhere while we tried to shop.
A new shop has opened in Armadale. Lovely gifts. We feel more comfortable there sadly.
Customers need to feel welcome not suspects.
