About Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre

During WW11 the township of Nhill hosted an RAAF training base. Over 12,000 young Australians trained during this time in quite a number of fields to prepare for their roles during WWII. Until now this has never been officially recognized and has been largely unknown by recent generations.

The aim of the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre formed in 2008 is to highlight, recognize and promote the important contribution made within the township of Nhill to the WWII effort and honour the young men and women who trained here and celebrate the heritage of Aviation in Nhill.

Today the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre provides a glimpse of those times and life at Nhill through informative displays.
