Be aware if you see seemingly discarded piles of fruit any where do not eat it - they are now using 1080 bait in such things as bananas in national parks ( and elsewhere) .( most likely this is knocking off the local cassowaries by lacing fruit with this stuff but this is being backed by the local council). A local cassowary organisation is complaining that this approach is killing the endangered cassowary , go figure eh ?
