Great place when no one else is there. Camping area itself isn’t that big as you can see from the aerial map. Camping is on the Western side of the water. It has one bin so I recommend taking out whatever you bring in. There’s a new loop track installed allowing caravans etc to enter and exit easily.
Recommend taking in your own fire wood due to people stripping the site itself. You could see some wildlife, cows, camels, wild horses or dingos. Take insect repellent too flies and mozzies can get annoying.
The best time to visit North Pool is definitely in the cooler months, otherwise it’s hot and the flies are thick. People swim here but the water isn’t very clear. No entry fees and also no facilities so be fully prepped to be fully self sufficient. Situated about 30 mins drive from the Wiluna townsite on unsealed roads which are in pretty good condition.
No Telstra phone reception, it drops out pretty quickly once you leave Wiluna townsite but if you climb a hill big enough you could possibly get enough to send and receive texts but I wouldn’t rely on it.
All in all a must see spot even if it’s just stopping for a cuppa on your travels.
