About Miles Historical Village Museum
The Miles and District Historical Village is a first-class facility and a “Must See” when visiting Miles. Savour the atmosphere of this authentic, turn of the century village with more than 34 buildings and countless displays. The main museum houses a great number of items from the early days of the turn of the century onwards. The complex began in 1971 by the Miles and District Historical Society. The attention to detail by each successive committee has brought alive the district’s colourful past and rich historical heritage of the Western Downs. The Miles Historical Village Museum houses an extensive War Museum, Shell Collection, Lapidary Display plus a comprehensive and educational display in the newly renovated Artesian Basin Centre.
