It has been a very long time since I have ventured into a hobby shop, we're talking easily 1/4 of a century! However, recently I have rekindled a bit of an interest in some work (art, craft, etc) that has led me down the path of 'cos play' thanks to the lead up of Halloween. So, I have continued that interest and needed some paint for a steampunk mask and nerf gun project.
Upon entering the premises I was warmly greeted and asked if I needed help, that was some good old school service right there! I may not have shown it, but I was surprised. It was friendly and not the 'strained' greeting you get elsewhere. After a while of browsing paints the owner asked if I was ok and I explained what I was doing and needing. Well he came right over and helped me out, pointing out exactly what I was hunting for.
I had myself a stroll around the store and boy did it take me back to being a kid seeing all the model kits for WWII aircraft, tanks, ships etc. Fond memories and some nostalgia here for this 50 year old big kid, especially seeing the Scalextric sets! I was blown away.
With the service that I got here I have no doubt that I will be returning.
