Ok. Alex Pericleous did a building inspection for me with his other registered Adelaide building inspection business "One Stop Inspections". My review is based on Alex Pericleous' business practices. All went ok. He's not expensive (for two good reasons -1) he's not thorough & 2) he seems to have a tendency to scam you later).

If you engage his services, BEWARE, it's a very generic proformer that he uses. Flashy photos, sure, but don't be sucked in. It's all very basic and he only points out the glaringly obvious.

While he does termite inspections, they too are basic & he offers absolutely no guarantees ... further, he even suggests you get a professional (ie his termite inspection may as well have been done from his office).

He agreed to do some further work. Charged me. DIDN'T DO THE WORK and kept the money - coming up with excuses, failing to attend appointments, failing to answer & return calls/messages. I have subsequently reported him to HIA (who he ignores so far), the ATO (at their recommendation), Scam Watch, Consumer & Business Services.

To be fair, I don't think Alex Pericleous scams everyone, and his inspections are fine IF the building is in good condition (having said that my neighbour's blind, demented 98 year old grandmother could get an inspection on a good property right).

But I have personally found Alex to be unscrupulous. If I ever get my money back, I will happily revise my review to reflect simple average competence. But when you defraud a client, other clients should know.

Also note that Alex Pericleous also goes by the name Alecos Pericleous which his two business (One Stop Inspections and First Choice Inspections SA) are registered under. Interestingly, an Alecos Pericleous was fined $20K for operating an unregistered used car dealership (easily googled) & defrauding clients. He is on a 2 year good behaviour bond (of $3K). If it's the same guy, I would urge all people who have been ripped if by Alex to contact Consumer Affairs Commissioner Dini Soulio to notify them that Alex behaviour is not good! He should be losing that bond.

I would suggest you think long and hard before using One Stop or First Choice Inspections - and once you've thought, spend some extra cash and get someone else to do it. Alex will likely cost you more in the long run (either through an amateur report or just scamming you ... or both).

Alex operates two business: One Stop and First Choice. He commenced building and pest inspection for us. Even if there are visual termite damage, his report said no termite damage. Also, there is a termite damaged tree in front yard. But, they didn't inspect. I contacted them but no response. We are still stressful. If you don't want stressful life and loss of your property, don't use One Stop inspection or First choice inspection.
