About Tillerkite Preschool
Set in the heart of beautiful bushland, Tillerkite Pre-School (formerly Blacks Camp Preschool) has been the home to many families in our community since opening in 1987.
After working in collaboration with the Mornington Peninsula Shire and the Bunurong Land Council, our name changed to Tillerkite to signify our commitment to Reconciliation. Aboriginal artefacts have been found in the area so it was important to the kinder community to change our name and pay our respects to the First Peoples. Tillerkite is an Aboriginal word meaning play which we feel is a great fit for our preschool. We are the first preschool on the peninsula to change our name and are proud to take this positive step towards reconciliation.
