After searching a few different kitchen renovators in Cairns, I came across My Kitchen Star who had recently set up the business in Cairns, after relocating from NSW. Preben provided a quote for a facelift of the kitchen, as well the price for a new kitchen. He also showed me drawings of the kitchen design, before signing a contract, which no other place would do, and happily made any changes I wanted.
After meeting with a few other kitchen places, and comparing quotes, My Kitchen Star came out cheaper then everyone else, despite using the same materials, fixtures and brands. I was initially reluctant with using them since they didn't have many reviews from clients in Cairns, but in the end decided to give them a go. I'm glad I did.
The kitchen was delayed a few days from the initial due date, but Preben worked hard to ensure the kitchen was installed by the time I had to go back to work. Preben did a great job and I would recommended them to anyone considering installing a new kitchen, but is a little scared of the price. Given I was initially told I would be spending between $15-20k by other cabinet makers/kitchen designers, I was very happy with the price quoted by My Kitchen star, and final product.
Preben and Sonja are absolute professionals from the get go. Their attention to detail, quality and craftmanship is second to none. They have amazing ideas and give you inspiration and a sense of ease whilst going through the entire process of design, consultation and of course the finished product. Preben went above and beyond to ensure that our kitchen was functional for the space he had and he worked within our budget with no nasty surprises at the end. We would highly recommend 'My Kitchen Star' to the renovators or anyone building you will not be disappointed with this company and their attention to detail!
