I booked my car in to have a straight forward starting /running issue looked at that was to do with the carburetor tuning. After 6 weeks , let me say that one more time...6 weeks in his workshop the mechanic inapt mechanic"Chris" had replaced a Genuine and brand new ballast resistor with an aftermarket part , replaced the reluctor and basically said its ready to go. starts every time. I paid and took the car to only get 100mtrs away before it failed backfiring out the carby. It had to then be transported on the back of a truck to my home as there was no way I was taking it back to this unskilled mechanic.. Hard lesson learned. And what did I have to pay for the privilege this unskilled mechanics labour, $480 plus another $200 for the transport home.
Disappointment does even begin to describe the way I feel. Their parting words were It might run ok in the summer but not in the winter but I guess summers out too.
Dont waste your time and money......Find an actual competent mechanic who knows what he is doing.
