About Kearsley Remembrance Garden
The Kearsley Remembrance Garden is dedicated to all those from Kearsley, Abernethy and Elrington who have served in the Australian Defence Force. At the centre of the space is a black-granite monument, which represents each of the local lives lost during periods of conflict and peace.
Around the perimeter of the garden are several 'Benches of Remembrance', each with numerous individual plaques attached. The plaques are inscribed with the names of local men and women who served in the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force during the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and conflicts since.
The garden was established in 2010 and is the site of commemorative services.
