The Stride family home in Putney, purchased in 2018 by the NSW state government was once part of an orange grove, farmed by discharged convict James Squire and the 100 strong Kissing Point Aboriginal tribe, led by Wollarawarre Bennelong.
This site is set to become a key 'Reconciliation activation site' celebrating positive race relations and the example set by Squire and Bennelong.
