It's different from all the other coffee break stops. See what memories you can dig up.
We came across the Surf Gallery on the last day of our Munda Biddi trek. It’s something I’m so glad we didn’t miss and is honestly my artistic highlight of the South, both the gallery (which could also be said to be a museum) and chatting to Wayne. I’m not a surfer but was still able to appreciate the history of the culture and the love that has gone into each board, this is thanks to the crazily professional way the gallery is set up- it honestly wouldn’t be out of place in a capital city, the way the boards are displayed and explained as well as the layout of the ‘old to modern’ start to finish of the space. One of the greatest touches was being able to see the workshop through a window where Wayne is painstakingly restoring and reviving people’s surfboards from around the country.
A must visit for anyone as a key part of Australian cultural heritage and preservation. Good job guys
