About St Cecilia School of Music
The St. Cecilia School of Music was established officially in 1974 in Launceston, Tasmania.
Within a short period of time over 1000 music students were enrolled in the School with 18 fully-qualified professional music teachers. The tradition of offering high-quality music education continues to this day.
Major concerts featuring the School’s string orchestras and choirs have been held in Launceston for the past 40 years and usually attract large audiences – typically over 500 people. Local St. Cecilia students as well as guests from interstate and overseas are regularly featured in St. Cecilia concerts.
