About Big Drift
Access to the Big Drift is from Stockyard Camp, near the entrance to Wilsons Promontory National Park. Follow the signs from the park entrance gate.
The Big Drift is an amazing expansive landscape of inland sand dunes. The walk is approximately 4km (1.5 hours) return from the Stockyards.
It’s easy to get lost in the dunes, so remember to mark your path to return. Ensure you stick to the signed tracks, especially when returning to the Stockyards.
There is no beach access from Big Drift, and we do not recommend walking to the Big Drift on days of high wind.
