This little reserve is an absolute gem and so close to the city! There is a hiking trail through beautiful stringy-bark forest where you feel you are remote from civilisation. It is under a km really an adventure!
Small groups only, parking near the entrance is almost impossible.
There is a narrow corridor leading to a steep gorge. The paths are carved into the steep slopes the give a low gradient. Great job from the volunteers.
The gully is covered with semi-closed forrest. Messmate gives the canopy, tussock, fern and grasses cover the ground and upstream shrubs and blackwood fills the middle.
A plesant and shaded spot worth a visit.
