I am no stranger to Portuguese egg tarts. Raised in Macau where those tarts were popular to locals and tourists alike and I have been to Portugal for a couple of times and had them compared. I am with a very sound mind what they are supposed to be liked.
When I found out there was one opening in Adelaide, I was overjoyed.
There were not authentic, not at all. The condensed milk part was missing and the egg part needs body. there was “nobody” to them. The pastry part is too “thin” hence missing the “bite”.
I sincerely hope they will look at improving them as I will closely monitor … I love egg tarts.
