Twice now I have had a terrible experience with my blood tests here. I have a phobia of needles and always tell the pathologist this before they take the blood.
Earlier this year, the technician started scolding me because I could not relax while she was drawing blood. She left me with a bruise the size of a 5 cent coin. 4 days later, a lady from Western Diagnostics just rocks up at my door in the middle of the day and tells me they didn’t draw enough blood for all the required tests and need to take more!
Today I went in for a test and same story, I tell the lady (different one) I have a fear of needles. She proceeds to stick a needle into my arm, then tells me she can’t find my vein. She tries again. Then changes arms and tries twice on the other arm. No luck!
At this point, I remind her that being repeatedly stuck with needles when I am scared of them is causing me anxiety. She tells me that why did I go to Western Diagnostics if I have a phobia. I should go to a hospital instead!
Needless to say, I could not get my test done today.
Their staff on both occasions have been incredibly rude and not experienced enough to get the job done right the first time. I have not had such a bad experience at other pathology clinics ever!
