Had my blood test form electronically from my doctor and, on arrival at this practice, a desk staff member told me that the SA Pathology staff member would print my form for me when it was my turn. I waited AN HOUR for the 6 blood tests before my turn, only to be told by the SA Pathology staff member that she couldn’t print my form as her printer wasn’t working and that I would have to go somewhere else. I explained that the front desk staff member told me that SA Pathology could print it and questioned why this wasn’t checked and left me waiting for an hour when they wouldn’t be able to do my test. I also asked if the front desk staff had a printer, to which she replied that the front desk staff had nothing to do with SA Pathology (despite me ‘checking in’ with them on arrival and notices saying that is what is required for SA Pathology tests).
I then spoke to the front desk staff, who were also completely unhelpful and also turned me away - they said they had a printer, but couldn’t print my form for privacy reasons. I told them I was happy for them to print it, as it was just my privacy in question, but they refused and sent me away. I had to leave and go to the nearby QEH SA Pathology - I was really grateful that they were super helpful, printed my form and did my blood test within 15mins of my arrival.
Pretty disappointed with my first (and last) experience at this Woodville Family Practice, as I was fasting to have my blood test (good thing I’m fit and healthy and waiting this long wasn’t a health issue, but too bad if I wasn’t) and in this current era, electronic forms are the norm.
