We have camped twice at Mount I’ve Sheep Station this year. We love this place as did our friends we brought along the 2nd time. The owner Joy and one of the staff, Sue are the best hosts. Sue even opened up their lounge in the bar/reception area so we could watch the final episode of our fav show. The atmosphere of the place is great, scenery beautiful and fun to do the 4WD tracks on the property. The amenities are clean. There’s a rotunda with kitchen facilities that we used and socialised under. Great place to stop at for a few days!
I somehow ended up here when meandering back to Mornington Peninsula from Perth a few years ago. I had planned on a two day stop, which grew to a week because I fell in love with the brutal beauty of the landscape, its tranquility and the genuineness of the few staff on the station. I eventually had to leave and vowed to return - which I did.... and not for the last time! Relaxing, comfortable and surprisingly good facilities in an authentic, unpretentious outback station.
Love it and also the Gawler Ranges. This is the true outback - raw, awe-inspiring and magnificent.
