Purchased an item online for click and collect using Google Pay as the payment method which never uses your actual card number. Instead it uses a virtual account number so your card details stay safe. Attended the store and the lady at the counter refused to give me my item even after showing drivers licence, text message and bank statement due to the credit card number not matching the purchase. Eventually got the item after she phoned someone. I think she had to be difficult though and was a power play. She said it was policy. If this is the case that you need to present drivers licence and credit card you purchased with to collect your item, then surely I haven't been the only to get stuffed around?
