Today I went to the downstairs chemist near Kmart. I have Addison's disease which is a chronic, life threatening, incurable disease. We have to carry an emergency injection kit in case we have an adrenal crisis. I showed the staff my prescription and asked if they had this medication in stock and also 2ml syringes (also required). I am a 66 year old man and I was made to feel like a drug addict trying to get syringes! The chemist spoke very abruptly and said that I do not inject myself but only the doctor can do it and he has the syringes. If they don't know anything about my disease why embarrass me in front of other customers? I was devastated. Please Google 'Addison's disease adrenal crisis injection' and learn your job! I went to another chemist who was friendly and knowledgeable and I was supplied both the medication and syringes.
