I purchased a brand new Bernstein 123 upright piano from Piano Magic in July 2016 and this review is long overdue. But the time up till now has certainly added more credence to the value of Gary's service and the pianos her chooses to provide. I spent about half a day in his store playing all the uprights from $4000-$15,000 price range and I settled in the middle for the beautiful 123 Bernstein in gloss black. It is something you only buy once and you have to do it right, so don't cheap out. Get the piano lifesaver system as well and your piano will be much happier! I have one and I played the Bernstein pretty much every day for a year and it only started to go out of tune a little in the last few months. It is a must in the desert-meets-ocean climate of the Midwest! Also the GENIO Silencer system too if you like practicing whenever you want and not constantly making people listen to your less desirable practice sounds…….noises.
Gary was and has been nothing short of the perfect piano supplier to buy from. He personally inspects, plays and picks out his pianos before stocking them. He can tell you everything you get from going up and down in price ranges and, the most important part for me, he isn’t just selling you the dream piano, he is also going to be there for many years to come to tune, service and keep your piano in showroom condition. Another big factor is that I live in Kalbarri – 600km north of Perth and Gary still makes the trip to tune and service the piano for the same price as a Perth local tuning.
All in all, Gary Bailey’s Piano Magic is where you should start looking (not gumtree!) if you want a piano and not a piece of furniture.
