Our family has just finished our playgroup journey, with 2 children, spanning 2018 to 2022.
We couldn't be happier with the Pre2Montes Playgroup, and the teachers, Sharika and Brenda.
Whenever we drove down Burswood Road our children would want to turn into Leigh St and go to playgroup. Sometimes we even went 3 days a week because the kids loved it so much, and it was an easy safe place to be with a Toddler and a baby (kids toilet, change facilities & Breastfeeding welcome). Its a nice place to chat with other parents too and share your parenting struggles and wins if you wish to do so.
Its amazing to watch the little ones progress through the "jobs" from under 1 (when you think its all impossible), then past 2 they seem to just pick up stuff so fast as they build on what they have already learned. Our kids have always been complimented on the skills they have picked up at Playgroup, and our eldest loved going back to visit and help their younger sibling.
Our 2nd child ,3 years old, has just moved into Cycle 1 (3 - 6 year age group) in class with their 5 year old Sibling, and couldn't be happier. Both kids are confident and love going to "School" (Kindy) and learning. The Playgroup and School continue to be their "Happy Place" and they now have many friends from 0 to teenagers as the Playgroup, Kindy, Primary and High School kids integrate regularly to enhance learning for all.
The Playgroup Directors, Sharika (and Brenda as backup), are a great team and you couldn't get two more passionate advocates of Montessori learning.
Our son started at Playgroup at Perth Montessori several years ago now and has since gone on to "big school" at PM and has loved it from day 1! He also still really enjoys visiting the little people in Playgroup and Cycle 1 and helping them with the Montessori jobs he used to do as a toddler. It's so nice to see in our son one of the great joys of Montessori learning - older children teaching the younger ones - unfold before my eyes.
